Random pic from life...

We did it! We tied the knot! If you are looking for photos of the wedding of Holly Sommer and Yours Truly, then you have found the right place.

Our wedding was planned for December 30th, 2006 in Durango, Colorado. Where is Durango? Click here for a map.

This was a 'destination wedding' which basically meant the ceremony is held at some exotic location other than your hometown. It is sort of like eloping, except you take your family and friends with you!

Since Holly's family is scattered out in Texas, Kansas, and California, and mine is in Arkansas, it was clear that someone was going to have to do some travelling if they wanted to attend the wedding. So we thought a destination wedding might make this a memorable experience for everyone. It will be like a mini-vacation for yourself! Show up a few days early and have some winter-time Rocky Mountain fun!

After exploring the many possible locations (Grand Canyon, Caribbean, etc), we finally settled on a Western Themed wedding in the small town of Durango, Colorado in the Rocky Mountains. The actual wedding ceremony was held December 30th on the Durango-Silverton Train.

We've blocked off some rooms at the historic Strater Hotel, and you'll find plenty of restaraunts, shopping, and things to explore in the town of Durango.

For the more daring, there's was plenty to do on the slopes of Durango Mountain Resort, or even a drive up north for a day at Telluride was on the schedule.

And for less dangerous activity, some wanted to check out the nearby Mesa Verde National Park.

Everyone showed up a few days before the wedding and had a good time with us. Most travelled on the 27th of December (Wednesday) and checked into the Strater Hotel on the 28th. That gave us 3 full days of fun. On the 31st (Sunday) we headed out of town and made our way back home.

We hope this was a great experience for everyone! If you didn't get to go, well at least we took some great pictures for you to enjoy!
