| In July of 2002, a scheduled trip to South Carolina to see about a job got cancelled, so there I was all packed up with no place to go. What does a person do when they're all packed up but have no place to go? Just hit the road and go somewhere anyway! I decided to head to Texas and visit some friends as well as a few places I'd heard about. So off we go again... |

| Before getting to Texas, we drove for awhile on I-40 and had to bypass the bridge that collapsed over the Arkansas River. We crossed a similar bridge and got a feel for just how high the bridge really was. We could see the collapsed bridge about a mile down the river.
