On New Year's Day, we had planned to leave early and head back to Arkansas.  But car problems delayed our departure until about 1 p.m.   Jim and Gary went off to try and get the car fixed.  So in the meantime I walked around and snapped some more pictures.  The weather was perfect and skies were blue.  I enjoyed the break from all the activity.
We weren't going to make it the whole way home on New Year's Day, so  got a room at a Day's Inn in Colby, Kansas.  It turned out to be a nice treat! They had a heated pool, jacuzzi, HBO, and a good continental breakfast.

We broke out the champage which we didn't drink  on New Year's Eve (because it was in the  trunk of the broken down car).

The next day we drove west all the way to Kansas City (above)  then south all the way down Hwy. 71 toward home.

Ah....Casa Bonita!

Unload the car!  Don't worry about  the mess, we'll clean it up tomorrow.  Right now...

...it's time to get some sleep.
