In 1994, Holly and I had the chance to go to the Alliance for Community Media's annual conference. It was a trip paid for partially by the place where I worked - Community Access Television. And it just so happened the conference was in Hawaii! We had to drive to San Francisco to catch our plane, but we were totally okay with that. It was a good excuse to swing by the Grand Canyon and other places along the way (and along the way back). In the end, it was a grand adventure with seeing the depths of the Grand Canyon and the heights of Yosemite. We enjoyed the BIG trees the Redwood forest as well as the small pleasures of walking on a sandy beach near Honolulu. We were amazed at the cool temperatures in San Francisco and we're nearly blown away by the Hurricane that passed by Hawaii while we were there. It was a huge trip, one I'll never forget!
