Back to Anchorage

It was my final day in Alaska, so I packed all my stuff and headed for the train station.  I was looking forward to the train trip, but was actually eager to get home and back into my routine.

Monday at noon I went to the Train station to catch the 8 hour train back to Anchorage.

The train trip was very nice with lots of room to wander around or just sit in the dome car and watch the scenery go by.

This picture doesn't show it very well, but we were looking at a fantastic view of Mt. McKinely (100% visibility again).  Clear blue skies and Autumn colors on the trees made this a stunningly beautiful trip.

Looking out a the back window of the dome car.  Later I had dinner on the train and just relaxed until we rolled into Anchorage about 8:30 p.m.   I immediately hopped on a shuttle and arrived at the airport at 9:30 pm.  There I met Holly and Jane once again and just hung out with them until about 11:30 pm...
